Kathy is still teaching her students, but via FaceTime on the iPad. Right now, Elsa is playing Ode To Joy very beautifully, from her own house. Sometimes Kathy notices a little something with a student that needs attention and explains and demonstrates on the grand old Steinway here. So it is different—but the same. And a part of the structure of students’ lives is maintained in an important way, with face to face, ear to ear contact with their teacher. I am proud of the students. And the teacher. And all of the committed and creative folks who are finding ways to keep the world spinning, and the music playing.
