BONSAI OF THE DAY: This little tree shares my writing space today, keeping me company. On different days I recruit different trees. As a living art, Bonsais symbolize many things, including grace and beauty, peace, and stillness. This little beauty is unusual in that it is a double-trunk, and with its wide-spreading crown reminds me of the shapes I’ve seen of the ‘umbrella trees’ from the African Serengeti.
