DEAR CAMPFIRE FRIENDS: How about a little Good News to start the day? Big developments from the old garage at the Cabin-in-the-Woods! For all who have followed the continuing odyssey of the little St. Patrick’s Day waif, Paddy (Paddington J. Cat). About a week ago Paddy—who had been terrified of… well, everything—let me touch him, just lightly brushing a paw with a finger. Three days ago a huge breakthrough—Paddy let me pet him. And arched his back and purred. And yesterday and today… well, look.
He purrs and buries his face in the crook of my arm or the palm of my hand. And I whisper that he is safe. Safe at last. And loved.
This morning he let Kathy pet him, too. Sometime soon we will make a trip to the local and very kind vet. We are so happy for the little guy. And most importantly, Paddy is happy, too.
