FATHERS DAY WONDERINGS

FATHERS DAY WONDERINGS: When I was a boy–and I suspect this is true for a great many of us, boys or girls–one of my great goals was to someday make my dad proud of me. And by extension my grandfather and uncles. And on this Fathers Day I wonder–how many of those previous American fathers and grandfathers, the ones who bled and died in the Great War against fascism in North Africa and Sicily, at Anzio and Monte Cassino, at Normandy and the Ardennes, would be proud of their MAGA descendants now?
Would be proud of the generation that stormed and occupied the nation’s Capitol and tried to overturn elections. Or defended those who did. Or who built American concentration camps. Or defend and vote for those who are doing so.
I wonder.
I wonder how many MAGA’s believe that they would? Believe that their patriot ancestors would be proud of their current blind support for a regime so VERY much like the grotesque evil they fought against?
I wonder if they ever think about it at all.
I wonder if they care.
I wonder if the great majority of this movement of ignorance and mindlessness, scapegoating, corruption and cruelty even have an inkling of what fascism is. And was.
I wonder how ignorant they truly are.
On this Fathers Day, 2026, these are things I wonder. And… I wonder, my campfire friends, what you think.
