For the Beauty of the Earth

AFTER VISITING the great pines of Itasca we return to the old cabin at the Church O The Pines. This is the week the sky-scrapers ladle out their gold and cover the cabin and all the forest floor below. All the winged members of the congregation flock to Fellowship Hall for goodies. While we like morning coffee and cherry croissants, they prefer suet and sunflower seeds.

The sky is cornflower blue, the breezes are light, and the river moseys by, calling the blue canoe for an outing later in the day. Few times of year are more lovely, reminding us of the old hymn, ‘For the Beauty of the Earth.’ Wherever you find beauty and sustenance, good hymns and good tidings, all here wish you Good Sabbath.
