FRIENDS: THERE IS A DIFFICULT PATH

FRIENDS: THERE IS A DIFFICULT PATH before us at this time. And when one walks a hard path, there’s something important remember: to try to keep your balance. Rocks, roots, bogs, seeps, mud holes, drop-offs, steep climbs, deadfalls… anyone who’s traveled a wilderness trail has encountered them all. So, you take your time. You pause and rest when you need to. Sometimes in rough terrain you have to plan each and every step. You try to be smart about how much of a load you can really carry. You’re careful. You remember to notice small beauties along the way. You don’t quit or give up. And… you strive to keep your balance. And if you should grow weary and stumble, or fall, you get back up again. Regain your balance, And continue on.
One of the best, most vital and timeless ways to keep our balance is to remember our ties to the earth. Biological. Psychological. Spiritual. To truly feel the ground beneath our feet. To sense the good company and guidance of trees, of green and wild things. I am planning a number of retreats and workshops in the coming months to focus on doing exactly that. Connecting. Reconnecting. Starting with our Forest Therapy Retreats in May and September. But there other exciting opportunities as well. For writers. For lovers of islands and wild places. I’ll be highlighting them in the coming days and hope you’ll watch for them. And meanwhile, we will continue to breathe the air and greet the sun, to walk our path, and strive to keep our balance.
