Good Life Lessons
HERE AT THE CHURCH O’ THE PINES it was a wild and woolly, windy night, with a couple of small limbs landing on the cabin roof.
But today dawns bright, blue, and beautiful, with forecasts for a warmer week. Last week’s snow is mostly gone, and spirits among the congregation seem to be high. Of course, they always are, no matter the weather. This is one of the benefits of going to church with chickadees. Or cardinals or blue jays or red squirrels. Even crows.
Beneath the solemn, deacon pines there is always conversation and activity and, dare we say revelry, as church members go about the seasons of their lives—adapting, working, building, gathering, sustaining, and simply being. Good life lessons abound, a happy thing during anxious and stressful times.
