Mrs. Figs’ Old Turtle: Questions of the Heart

SOMETIMES LIFE PRESENTS US WITH WONDERFUL AND UNEXPECTED SURPRISES. A couple of years ago I received a heartfelt email from a nice lady in Camarillo, California, who said she owned a small, independent bookstore called Mrs. Figs’ Bookworm. She wrote to tell me of her enchantment with my new book at the time, ‘Old Turtle: Questions Of The Heart,’ and how it was flying off the shelves at her store. A few weeks later, my WildSpirit Band and I were performing a concert and debuting the new book here in Sartell, Minnesota. At the signing afterward, my wife Kathy called me over to meet someone. “Here is Connie Halpern–Mrs. Figs!” she said, “All the way from California!!” It was the start of a wonderful friendship, including a trip for Kathy and me to California. I tell this story to set the stage for this beautiful reading of that Old Turtle book, by Mrs. Figs herself. It takes a little time, but Connie’s beautiful, empathetic reading is well worth it. So please settle back in a comfortable chair, with a cup of tea or a glass of wine, and listen to Mrs. Figs read ‘Old Turtle: Questions of the Heart.’
