GOING THROUGH MY MOTHER’S MANY BOXES of things, I have spent a good part of today sorting through newspaper clippings and reviews that she saved. Wow. I really had no idea how much ink was spilled to tell about Old Turtle—and her sidekick, me. Scores and scores of articles from across the country through the 1990s and Mother must have saved them all. That’s a mom for you. Here are just a few, to take you back to a time when a wise old tortoise was making her way across the landscape. It was fun. And Old Turtle and I are still best friends. Thank you, Mother.
