KATHY AND I WERE ON OUR WAY to an appointment in south St. Cloud, driving on busy, 4-lane Roosevelt Avenue, when I spotted this poor fellow along the roadside.

I begged Kathy (driving) to make a U-turn amongst all the traffic so I could check it out. A place where the road crossed over a very small waterway. I thought I knew what the creature was, but as soon as I got there, realized I was wrong. VERY unusual animal for this area—virtually unheard of. Any guesses as to his identity, and what I thought he might have been at first? (About 20 lbs. I have placed the saw in the first photo for perspective.) Extraordinary!
