Things Trees Know
SOMETIMES, IN A TIME OF TRAGEDY OR ANGUISH—personal or familial or national—the most that one can accomplish is to carry on, to persevere, to endure. And to accept the brokenness and scars that go with it. All a part of life. Trees can teach us this, can show us. In fact, they do show us, every day. Trees are among our greatest teachers and friends. I am daily grateful for their company, and could not live in a world without them.
