Join Douglas Wood for an extraordinary weekend writers’ workshop at beautiful Osprey Wilds Environmental Learning Center near Sandstone, Minnesota. Enjoy a mature maple/basswood forest among 250 year old pines. Explore nearly 800 acres in a mature maple/basswood forest. Explore nearly 800 acres of woods, wetlands, streams, and undeveloped shoreline. Bask in the comfort of iconic Schwytzer Lodge (National Register of Historic Places) with its grand old screen porch overlooking gorgeous Grindstone Lake and its fiery sunsets, with the old stone fireplace in the great room for evening gatherings. And on top of it all, spend the weekend with Doug, (author of 39 books, song-writer/composer, wilderness guide) talking about, thinking about, and sharing the joy of writing. This special opportunity is for anyone with an interest in expressing themselves through the written word, from beginners through accomplished writers.

WRITERS IN THE WOODS is a one-of-a-kind creative and intuitive workshop, designed to encourage participants from exactly where they are in their writing journey. We will explore realms outside of normal boundaries and comfort zones, focusing on creative flow and imaginative paths. A flexible agenda will reflect particpants’ interests, abilities, and goals.
