IT IS THE TIME OF YEAR

IT IS THE TIME OF YEAR, as temperatures cool, when itinerant woodland mice begin dreaming of warm cabins and changes of address. This means that Koda the Forest Kitten is on the job. Unfortunately, many of these illicit homesteading operations take place at night, under cover of darkness. That being the nature of mice. So Koda must also be abroad in the wee hours—standing guard, protecting his home and family. Dispatching evildoers. It is not easy work. So when daylight arrives, after sharing morning coffee with Dad (well, just the cream part) and a short conversation, Koda repairs to his cat-tree—which was a better fit when he truly was a kitten. If a bit of extra comfort is needed, he may do a little languorous stretching and snoozing on the bed. Night will come soon enough, with its marauding mice. And Koda must be ready.
