OF ALL THE TEACHERS

OF ALL THE TEACHERS I have known, I have found none greater than trees. So many teachers and teachings have enriched my life that I wrote a book about them, accompanied by drawings of favorite scenes.
A few of the things trees can teach us:
Reach for the light.
Grow from the bottom up, and from the inside out.
Be a shelter to someone.
It’s simple: If you’re living, you’re growing. If you’re growing, you’re living.
Give your fruits freely.
Remember that dreams are the seedlings of realities. And it is often from the fertile soil of failure that they grow.
Know that big trees are just little trees that kept going.
Keep your head in the clouds and your feet on the ground.
Make fresh air, not hot air.
Respect your elders.
Remember that all trees fall. But Life doesn’t end, it only changes. The fallen tree keeps giving, and in all that grows around it, rises once more.
