THE TEMPERATURE AT The Church O’ The Pines

THE TEMPERATURE AT The Church O’ The Pines this morning is 147 degrees below zero. Which is cold, but of course we’ve seen colder. The birds and squirrels and deer are fed, the river is booming, the trees are cracking, and a few snow bombs still falling. It is winter, and a different world in the woods from summer. We are told by the weather people that this is the most snow and cold we’ve had this early in December for decades. Yet it feels familiar. The air brisk and biting, the cabin cozy and comfortable. Yesterday the youngest granddaughter, recently moved from Florida, was charging around through the snow without a care. It was a fine thing to see. Beauty and wonder abide. Good Sabbath to all…..
